Senior data engineers,
end to end

A team of senior engineers who design, build, and optimise modern data platforms — every engagement hands-on, from architecture to production handover.

Why DatomIQ exists

Senior engineering, brought to the data layer

For over a decade I designed and ran data platforms inside large, complex organisations — finance, investment, retail at scale. The same thing kept happening: platforms that looked impressive on an architecture diagram, yet were slow, costly, and fragile once they reached production. The engineering rigour that makes software dependable rarely reached the data layer.

DatomIQ exists to close that gap — to bring senior, hands-on engineering to data platforms, and the honesty to choose the architecture that genuinely fits the problem instead of the one that sells the most licences.

The name carries the idea. DatomIQ brings together Data, Optimisation, and IQ — intelligence applied to data. Not bigger platforms; smarter ones: right-sized, measurable, and built to keep paying off long after we hand them over.

We're a small team of senior engineers by design — and a growing one. Every engagement is led end to end by the engineer doing the work.

DatomIQ = Data · Optimisation · IQ

Our values

These principles guide every engagement, every architecture decision, and every line of code we write.

Right-sized architecture

Right-sized architecture

Build the smallest platform that solves the problem. Complexity carries an ongoing cost that compounds over time.

Quality, by default

Quality, by default

Validation, testing, and operational discipline are part of the design from day one, not a follow-up project.

Stack-fit by design

Stack-fit by design

Each platform is built around its constraints. The architecture follows from the problem, across enterprise and open-source stacks alike.

Built for handover

Built for handover

Your team owns and extends the platform after we leave. Documentation, conventions, and clarity ship with the code.

Let's talk about your platform

Whether you're building new or fixing what you have — no pitch, just a conversation with an engineer.
